Meet the Expert

Alex Smith is postpartum doula and motherhood photographer. She is also a wife to an almond farmer, and a homeschooling, home birthing, home making, and homesteading mama to our four little ones. Of motherhood, Alex says “I look forward to days I get to do laundry, cook, homeschool... the things that receive zero hype from anyone but me. The things that society will say are meaningless... but the things I know are shaping my children's foundations for who they will continue to become.

The "magic" part of the mundane isn't because it is somehow supernaturally conjured, but instead it's the element of wonder that when brought into our day to day experiences, makes them feel fullfilling and special; simple tasks done with care and gratitude. The wonder of this gift, this purpose so grand that all life begins here; the wonder, of motherhood.”
